Repairing gearbox housing and clutch housing

Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Hose clamp -T20133 -, see equivalent → Anchor

t	Tappet -T20135 -, see equivalent → Anchor

t	Extractor kit -T20140 -, see equivalent → Anchor

t	Extractor kit -U 40100B -, see equivalent → Anchor

t	Kit (case) -U 40200A -, see equivalent → Anchor

t	Kit (case) -U 40300-, see equivalent → Anchor

Releasing the seal sleeve

Insert the seal sleeve –  Use the tool -T20133- screwing in the spindle of the fitting device with washer onto the threaded part of the differential. –  Rotate the nut -A- until the bush is inserted all the way using the fitting tool - T20133 -.   Note With the gearbox removed, insert the sleeve with the tool -T20133- to the limit

Release the sleeve -A- from the selection shaft   Note Item -1- can be disregarded.

Push in selector shaft sleeve -A- as far as it will go –  Use the installation tool -T20135-.   Note Item -1- can be disregarded.

Pulling cylinder roller bearing out of clutch housing –  Extract the bearing using the extractor kit -T20140 -, first squeeze the securing ring using pliers.

Pressing cylindrical roller bearing into clutch housing –  Clutch housing on a tubular mount (not displayed)should be positioned immediately below the bush allotment. –  Extract the roller bearing sockets using the adapter -U-40200/10- and the adapter -U-40200/13 - . While fitting, squeeze the securing ring with pliers. –  Remove pliers before cylindrical roller bearing is in installation position. t  Retaining ring must engage in groove of clutch housing.
