Moving mechatronic unit for dual clutch gearbox -J743- into »removal position« by hand

In some cases, it may not be able to be removed. In this case, the gear actuator is »caught« at the »top left« of the gearbox housing -arrow-.

l	Only when the mechatronic is not moved in to the removal position with the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system - VAS 505X-, it must be moved to this position by hand.

The sticking gear actuator -arrow- must now be pressed by hand into a removal position. For this purpose, a selector fork must be posed in behind the cover as a parking lock. This is described in the following:

–  First re-install the mechatronic of the gearbox housing and secure using a screw. –  Put the gear selector lever into position „P“.

–  Remove the retaining washers -arrow-. –  Always replace the securing disc of the selector lever cable.

–  Fit the cable to the joint. –  To do this, press lever by hand as far as it will go in direction of cable support bracket.

–  Remove the lever from the selection shaft. –  Unbolt cover.   WARNING The mechatronic unit will not be »stuck« after the next step. This means that they may fall down. If that has not already been completed, the mechatronic must be secured to the gearbox using a screw to prevent it from falling down.

–  Working through opening, push selector fork to side. (Press to left in direction of travel.) This presses back »sticking« gear actuator and mechatronic unit can be removed.

–  Grease the sealing ring of the cover. Sealing grease for radial oil seal -G 052 128A 1-

–  Fit cover and lever again.

–  Hang the cable of the selector lever back into the neck of the joint and fit a new circlip. –  Always replace the securing disc of the selector lever cable. –  The gearbox must be refilled with gearbox oil after completing work on the mechatronic → Chapter. –  Adjust selector lever cable → Chapter. –  Place plug on removed mechatronic unit. This means mechatronic unit can be sent sealed in oil-tight condition.
