Gearbox support: dismounting and assembly Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter. Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Socket -U-30025E -, see equivalent → Anchor Removal: –  Switch ignition OFF. –  Put the gear selector lever into position „P“. –  Remove engine cover → Booklet101. –  Remove the air filter body, breather hose and air duct hoses → Rep. gr.24 and → Rep. gr.23 .   WARNING Take all the necessary precautionary measures when disconnecting the battery → Electrical system; Rep. gr. 27

–  Remove cover -1- above the battery. To do this press the release tab -arrow-.

–  Disconnect battery earth strap-arrow-with the ignition switched off. –  Remove battery → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.

–  Remove battery tray -arrows-.

–  Position bracket -U-30025E- on bolted flange for wing panels. –  Next, separate the hoses and cables that may be in the area of the engine where the rings that grip the support -U-30025E - go. –  Place eyes onto spindle hooks. –  Slightly tension the engine assembly/gearbox via the spindles.

–  Unbolt bolts -arrows- to release the gearbox support console. –  Carefully lower the engine/gearbox assembly via the spindles.

–  Dismount all the necessary pieces to obtain access to the bolts -1-. –  Remove bolts -1-. –  Remove the gearbox support -A-. Installation Installation is carried out in reverse order. The following must be taken into account:

–  Assembling the gearbox support -A-. –  The bolts -1- must be replaced.

Component		Nm
Always replace the bolts -1-, M10 x 55		40 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn)

–  Pull the gearbox upwards, towards the leg of the support, with the help of the support -U-30025E -.   WARNING Before screwing the screws to fix the gearbox console to the gearbox support it is necessary for the gearbox support and the console to be aligned totally parallel to each other; otherwise the thread may be damaged. If necessary push the rear part of the gearbox upwards with the aid of a trolley jack.

–  Bolt the gearbox support to the console using bolts -arrow-. –  Renew bolts

Denomination	Torque
Bolts -arrow-	100 Nm

WARNING Before removing the support -U-30025E- the bolts of the mechanical assemblies mounting must have been tightened to corresponding torque.
