1st to 3rd gear clutch -K1-: dismantling and assembling Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Pliers -A-81124-

t  Fitting tool -T20023-

t	The clutch must only be dismantled for cleaning or for visual inspection.

t	Disengage clutches -K1- and -K3- → Chapter

t	Engage clutches -K1- and -K3- → Chapter

1 -	Support bearing

q	Made up of 4 parts. Unhook it from the innner disk bracket

q	Fit → Fig.

2 -	Inner disk bracket

q	Fitting → Fig.

q	Assembling → Fig.

3 -	Safety ring

q	Different thicknesses

q	Mark it after removal and refit in the same position

4 -	Support disk

q	glatte Seite zeigt zur Innenlamelle

q	Fit it together with the inner disk bracket → Fig.

5 -	Inner disk

q	Number of disks → Chapter

q	Fitting → Fig.

6 -	Outer disk

q	Number of disks → Chapter

q	Fitting → Fig.

q	Always 1.5 mm thick

7 -	Outer disk

q	Fitting → Fig.

q	Always 2.0 mm thick

8 -	Ondulated elastic washer

9 -	Safety ring

q	Dismantling and fitting → Fig.

10 -	Piston cover

q	The sealing lips are fixed by vulcanisation to the piston

q	Before fitting, apply ATF to the sealing lips

q	To fit the cover, turn it slightly

11 -	Springed intermediate ring

q	With support bush and pressure springs

Piston

q	The sealing lips are fixed by vulcanisation to the piston

q	Before fitting, apply ATF to the sealing lips

q	When fitting the piston, turn it slightly

13 -	Clutch housing

q	Before fitting the inner disk bracket, fit the ondulated elastic washer → Item and the inner and outer disks on the clutch housing → Fig.

Removing and fitting the safety ring –  Place the clutch housing in a press. –  Insert the -T20023- tool between the clutch housing and the press. –  Activate the press until the safety ring -arrow- can be separated or fitted in the recess.   Note! To remove and fit the safety ring, use tool -A-81124-.

Fit the support disks on the inner disk bracket –  Fit the support disk -a- with the flat side facing the inner disk and the stepped side facing the inner disk bracket. –  Fit 3 inner disks -b- and 2 outer disks -c-. –  Engage the support bearing with the edge -arrow-. t  Fit the securing lugs correctly. t  Fit the ondulated elastic washer and the other disks in the clutch housing → Fig.

Fit the ondulated elastic washer and the outer and inner disks in the clutch housing –  First fit the ondulated elastic washer. –  Fit a 2 mm thick outer disk. –  Fit the remaining inner and outer disks.

Fitting the inner disk bracket and the safety ring -arrow- –  Lift the inner disk brack -arrow- slightly to fit the safety ring.
