Removal –  Place the vehicle on an elevator bridge. –  With the ignition switched off disconnect battery earth strap. –  Remove upper and lower drive train protection assembly. –  Remove the expansion tank cap and drain the coolant (elevate the vehicle if necessary) → Chapter.

–  Remove the following elements from the air filter-air intake hose assembly: 1 -  Intake air temperature sender connector 2 -  Pressure connection hose 3 -  Fixing clamp from the air intake hose to the intake manifold 4 -  The circlips which secure the air filter assembly to the bodywork and separate this

–  Remove the hoses from: 1 -  EGR valve 2 -  Throttle drive lung –  Raise the vehicle and remove the nuts that secure the exhaust pipe to the manifold.

–  Separate the following elements from the cylinder head: 1 -  Oil pressure switch connector 2 -  Multiple connector support 3 -  Coolant sleeve 4 -  Coolant sleeve –  Loosen and separate the injection pipes using the -U-40072- tool. Do not modify the shape of the tubes. –  Remove the return fuel hose from its fixing to the injector. –  Disconnect the connector assembly from pre-heating plugs.

–  Remove the sleeves from their fixing to the coolant distributor -1-, use the -T20029- pliers. –  Disconnect the temperature sender connector. –  Separate breather pipe from engine sump -arrows-. –  Detach the cylinder head cover, remove the gasket.

–  Release the securing clips -1- remove the star-head screw -2- and remove the upper protection of the toothed belt. –  Remove the toothed belt → Chapter. –  Remove the camshaft toothed wheel. –  Extract the bolts securing the rear toothed belt guard of the cylinder head.

–  Remove the cylinder head securing bolts according to the established order. Use tool -U-40020-. –  Remove the cylinder head assembly.
