Separating centre and rear silencers
Separating centre and rear silencers
t  The connecting pipe can be cut through at the point marked in order to renew the centre and secondary silencers separately.
t  The cutting point can be identified by the impression on the circumference of the exhaust tube.
Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Chain pipe cutter -VAS 6254-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Eye protection
Procedure
  WARNING
Wear eye protection.
  A26-0790
–  Cut the exhaust pipe at the cutting line -arrow 2- at a right angle using the tube cutting chain -VAS 6254-.
–  Position the clamp for fitting -4- on the marks -arrow 1- and -arrow 3-.

–  Install the clamp so that the bolt end does not project over the clamp lower edge.
l  Bolted connection faces to rear.
–  Align exhaust system without tension → Chapter
