Removing and installing vibration damper t  Removing → Anchor t  Installing → Anchor Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter. Special tools and workshop equipment required

Removing –  Loosen quick-type locks -1 and 2-, and remove front noise insulation. –  Remove the front bumper trim → Rep. gr.63. –  Move lock carrier to service position → Rep. gr.50. –  Remove the Poly V-belt → Chapter.

–  Unscrew bolts -3- from engine torque support -1-. –  Remove the torque reaction support of the engine -1-. –  Remove vibration damper cover.

–  Unscrew the bolts -Arrows- of the vibration dampers. Also, counterhold the vibration damper to the middle bolt with a ring spanner. –  Remove vibration damper. Installing Installation is carried out in reverse order. The following should be taken into account: –  When installing the vibration damper, use only new genuine bolts (same as original equipment): → Spare parts catalogue.

l  Can only be fitted in one position: The borehole of the vibration damper must be positioned above the raised section of the toothed belt sprocket -arrow-.

–  Push torque reaction support -1- upwards in direction indicated by -arrow- until it makes contact with cross member.   Note Bump stop -2- must be in contact with cross member without play, but must not be under tension. –  Then tighten bolts -3-. Tightening torques
