Retention tool -T10172-, see equivalent
→ Anchor
Removing
–
Remove oil sump
→ Chapter
.
–
Lock the oil pump sprocket using the retention tool -T10172-.
–
Loosen the sprocket securing bolt.
Note
Do not remove the bolt yet.
–
Push the chain tensioner in the
-direction of the arrow-
using a screwdriver.
–
Remove the sprocket securing bolt.
–
Remove the sprocket from the oil pump and chain.
–
Loosen the oil pump securing bolts
-arrows-
and remove.
–
Remove the oil pump from the engine block.
Fitting
–
Push the chain tensioner in the direction of the arrow using a screwdriver.
–
Place the sprocket on the chain and on the oil pump cam.
–
Check that the sprocket is correctly fitted onto the oil pump cam

–
Tighten the sprocket securing bolt.
–
Immobilise the sprocket using the retention tool -T10172-.
–
Place the torque wrench (5...50 Nm) -V.A.G. 1331- as shown.
–
Tighten the bolt to 20 Nm +

turn (90°).

Fit the oil sump
