Front sealing flange: Removing and installing > < Sealing flanges and flywheel: Removing and installing
Crankshaft oil seal, pulley end: Replace.
Crankshaft oil seal, pulley end: Replace.
t  Removing → Anchor
t  Fitting → Anchor
t  Tightening torques → Anchor
Check the tool and equipment equivalence table according to the applicability between Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter
   
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Hose clamp -3415-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Guide sleeve -T10053-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Extractor -T20143-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Tightening torque -VAG 1331-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Tightening torque -VAG 1332-, see equivalent → Anchor

   
Removing
l  Engine installed
–  Detach the outer -1- and inner -2- engine covers, by pulling them evenly upwards.
–  Remove poly V-belt → Chapter.
–  Remove toothed belt → Chapter.

–  Install crankshaft toothed belt sprocket. Immobilise the notched belt sprocket using the counterhold -3415-.
  N13-0401
–  Insert the extractor -T20143- and extract the seal -1-.
–  Clean contact surface and sealing surface.
Installing:
  Note
t  Do not lubricate sealing lip and outer rim of oil seal before pressing in.
t  Use clean cloth to wipe off oil residue at crankshaft journal.
  E13-0192
–  Slide the guide sleeve -T10053/1- onto the crankshaft journal.
–  Slide the seal onto the guide sleeve up to the crankshaft journal.
  N13-0513
–  Press the seal using the pressure sleeve -T10053- and centre bolt to the limit.
  N13-0514
–  Install crankshaft sprocket. Immobilise the notched belt sprocket using the counterhold -3415-.
–  Tighten the new central bolt to the prescribed torque .
  Note
t  There should be no oil on the contact surface between the notched belt wheel and the crankshaft
t  Do not oil bolt for notched belt crankshaft pulley.
–  Fitting notched belt → Chapter.
–  Installing Poly-V belt → Chapter.
