Check the tool and equipment equivalence table according to the applicability between Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Pressure gauge -VAS 6550-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 505X-, see equivalent → Anchor
Test condition
l  The fuses must be in good condition.
l  Battery voltage: Min. 12 V
l  All consumer electrics, for example: lights, heated rear window, should be off.

–  Remove the quick connector -A- (black or with black markings) from the fuel supply line.
–  Connect the pressure tester -VAS 6550- to the pipes -VAS 6550/1- and -VAS 6550/2- to the open ends of the fuel supply line.
–  To switch on the test and measuring instrument -VAS 6550- press the On/Off button.
–  Open the cut-off valves “A” and “B” of the test and measuring instrument and close the cut-off valve “C”.
–  Start engine and run at idling speed.
–  Close the cut-off valve “B” for maximum 15 seconds and read off the current pressure during this period on the test and measuring instrument -VAS 6550-. Specification: minimum 0.5 bar.
–  Open the cut-off valve “B”.
–  Place the test and measuring instrument -VAS 6550- on the windscreen in such a manner that you read the value off it.
–  Increase the idling speed to 2,500 rpm and read the current pressure on the test and measuring instrument -VAS 6550-. Specification: Min. 0.25 bar.
–  If the delivery pressure reduces with time, replace the fuel delivery unit → Chapter.
–  If the values specified are attained, check the tandem pump in order to rule out blockage of the fuel filter → Chapter
–  If the values of the tandem pump are okay, check the delivery rate of the fuel pump → Chapter.
