Safety precautions when working on the fuel supply system
  WARNING
When completing any assembly work, especially in the engine compartment, pay attention to the following due to the cramped conditions:
t  All the various lines (e.g. fuel, hydraulic system, active carbon filter system, coolant, refrigerant, brake fluid and vacuum pipes and hoses) and electrical wiring must be installed in their original positions.
t  Ensure sufficient clearance from all moving or hot components.
t  The fuel and the fuel system lines may reach very high temperatures (risk of burn injuries)!
t  Fuel system is under pressure! Before opening the system, fit a cloth around the connection and the release the pressure by carefully separating the connection.
t  When carrying out work on the fuel system, always wear gloves and protective glasses.
When removing or fitting components of full or partially full fuel tanks, note the following:
t  The fuel tank should only be partially full. In the relevant work description, the amount of fuel that can remain in the tank is indicated. Drain the tank if necessary.
t  Before beginning work, place an extraction hose close to the opening in the fuel tank to extract escaping fuel fumes and switch on exhaust extraction system. If no exhaust extraction system is available, a radial fan (as long as motor is not in air flow) with a displacement greater than 15 m3/h may be used.
t  Avoid skin contact with the fuel! Use fuel resistant gloves!
When removing and fitting the fuel tank, take the following into account:
t  The fuel tank must be empty in order to reduce weight. Drain the tank if necessary.
