Exhaust gas recirculation system - Components overview

Note

t	This overview of the components is for all engines, the particular features of each motor will be dealt with later:

t	In engines with codes BKY and BBZ, the intermediate flange → Item is an integral part of the intake manifold

t	In engines with codes BBY manufactured from 05/2003 the intermediate flange → Item is an integral part of the intake manifold

q	Between the Solenoid valve 1 for active carbon reservoir system (pulsed) -N80- and the cylinder head

11 -	Exhaust gas recirculation valve -N18- and Potentiometer for exhaust gas recirculation -G212-

q	In case of replacement, adapt the engine control unit to the exhaust gasses recirculation valve → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051“Guided function”

Note

t	From the year model 2006 ►, those vehicles equipped with the BKY engine do not include the exhaust gasses recirculation valve -N18-

t	Those vehicles with the BXW engine are not fitted with the exhaust gasses recirculation valve -N18-
