Removing and installing ancillary bracket

Removing

–	Drain coolant → Chapter.

–	Remove poly V-belt → Chapter.

–	Remove the generator → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.

–	Disconnect electrical connection -1- for the magnetic coupling on air conditioner compressor.

WARNING

Risk of injury due to refrigerant.

The air conditioning refrigerant circuit must not be opened.

–	Remove bolts -arrows- for air conditioner compressor.

Caution

Danger of damage to refrigerant lines and hoses.

Do not stretch, kink or bend refrigerant pipes and hoses.

–	Carefully attach the air-conditioning compressor with the refrigerant hoses still connected to the longitudinal member.

–	Unscrew the bolt -arrow- for the oil dipstick guide tube.

–	Extract bolts -1... 5- and remove the bracket for the ancillary units from the housing of the coolant pump.

Fitting

l	Tightening torque → Chapter

Reassembly is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:

Note

t	Renew the bolts tightened with specified tightening angle.

t	Renew gaskets and O-rings.

–	Coat O-rings -4- with coolant additive »G12 plus plus«.

–	Insert the coupling sleeve -2- into the housing -3- of the coolant pump.

–	Move the ancillary group bracket -1- on to the coupling sleeve, fit the bolts and tighten → Fig..

–	Fit bracket for ancillaries (first tighten bolt -4-).

–	Tighten bolts in the sequence -1 ... 5- in 3 stages as follows:

1.	Tighten the bolts by hand.

2.	When tightening bolts, apply 20 Nm torque

3.	Turn bolts 90° (¹/₄ turn) further.

t	Tightening torques → Chapter

–	Install air conditioner compressor → Rep. gr.87.

–	Install alternator → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.

–	Install poly V-belt → Chapter.

–	Fill up coolant → Chapter.
