Engine control unit: adjustment to the electronic immobiliser

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Fault reader -V.A.G 1551- or vehicle system tester -V.A.G 1552- with cable -V.A.G 1551/3B-

Test conditions

l	An authorisation key is required

Operation sequence

–	Open the left hand side shelf.

–	Connect the fault reader -V.A.G 1551- or the systems tester -V.A.G 1552- using the cable -V.A.G 1551/3B-.

–	Turn the ignition on.

–	Operate the fault reader or the vehicle systems tester taking into the account the display indication:

–	Press key 1 for “Rapid date transmission”.

–	Press the keys 2 and 5 for the address code “Immobiliser”, confirm using the key Q.

–	Following the reply from the immobiliser control unit, press the key →.

Display indication:

–	Press keys 1 and 0 for the “Adaptation” function and confirm input with the Q key.

Display indication:

–	Press the key 0 twice for the “channel number 0” and confirm the entry with the key Q.

Display indication:

–	Confirm using the key Q.

Erase adaptive values?

Display indication:

–	Conclude adaptation by pressing key →.

–	Press keys 0 and 6 for the “End output” function and confirm input with the Q key.

–	Switch ignition OFF.

Note

When the ignition is turned ON again, the engine control unit identification is introduced into the immobiliser control unit.
