Checking pre-heating plugs
   
Checking pre-heating plugs
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Torque spanner -SAT 8010-
t  Tool -U-40082-
t  Diode test lamp -V.A.G 1527B-
t  Auxiliary measuring set -V.A.G 1594A- or -V.A.G 1594C-

Checking conditions
l  Battery voltage at least 11.5 V
l  Ignition off
Test sequence
–  Remove the connectors from pre-heating plugs.
–  Connect -V.A.G 1527B- diode lamp cable to battery positive (+) with the help of aux. clamps from the auxiliary measuring set -V.A.G 1594A- or -V.A.G 1594C-.
   
–  Apply check point of diode lamp to each pre-heating plug. The LED lights up: plug OK. The LED does not light up: replace plug.
–  Install and remove pre-heating plugs with Tool -U-40082-. Tightening torque: 15 Nm
