ABS warning lamp -K47-
t  If the ABS indicator -K47--2- does not go out after switching on the ignition and on completion of the test process, this may be for the following reasons:
-a- The voltage supply is less than 10 volts.
-b- An error has occurred in the ABS.
  WARNING
If there is an ABS fault, -b-, the system will remain off while the conventional braking system will continue working correctly.
-c- since the last time the vehicle was started there was a temporary speed sensor fault.
In this case, the ABS warning light automatically switches off when the vehicle starts moving again and is travelling at over 20 km/h.
-d- Connection between the instrument panel and the ABS control unit - J104- has been interrupted → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
-e- There is a fault in the instrument panel.
ABS indicator -K47- and brake system indicator -K118-
t  If the ABS indicator -K47--2-, goes out, but the brake system indicator -K118--1- remains lit, this may due to the following:
-a- The hand brake is on.
-b- The brake fluid level is too low (the warning light flashes).
When the ignition is switched on, 3 warning beeps can be heard.
-c- Brake pads are worn (when fitted with brake pad wear sender).
-d- There is fault in the wiring of the brake system warning light -K118- → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
t  If the ABS indicator -K47--2- and the brake system indicator -K118--1- light, this implies that the ABS system is faulty. However, a change in braking behaviour must be reckoned with.
  WARNING
If both the ABS indicator -K47- and the brake system indicator -K118 - have come on, the rear wheels could lock before time on braking.
Traction control system warning lamp -K86-
t  If, after the ignition has been switched on and the test process completed, the acceleration anti-skid regulation indicator -K86--4- does not go out, this may be due to the following:
There is a fault which only affects the ASR. The ABS and EBV safety systems continue to run trouble free. Read fault memory.
-a- There is short to positive in the ASR/ESP button -E256 -.
-b- There is a fault in the activation of the acceleration slip regulation indicator -K86- → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
-c- The ASR system has been switched off using the ASR/ESP button - E256 -.
If the acceleration slip regulation indicator -K86- flashes while driving, this implies that the ASR system is in operation.
t  If the acceleration slip regulation indicator -K86--4- did not light up during the auto-test, this implies the following fault:
-a- The warning lamp for the acceleration slip regulation indicator -K86- is defective. Carry out an electric test.
Stability Program Indicator, ASR/ESP -K155-
t  If, after the ignition has been switched on and the test process completed, the the electronic stability program indicator, ASR/ESP -K155--4- does not go out, this may be due to the following:
There is a fault which only affects the ASR/ESP. The ABS / EBS and EBV safety systems continue to run trouble free. Read fault memory.
-a- There is short to positive in the ASR/ESP button -E256 -.
-b- There is a fault in the activation of the ASR/ESP stability program indicator - K155- → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
-c- The ASR/ESP system has been switched off using the ASR/ESP button - E256 -.
If the ASR/ESP indicator -K155- flashes while driving, this implies that the ASR or ESP system is in operation.
t  If the ASR/ESP indicator -K155--4- did not light up during the auto-test, this implies the following fault:
-a- The warning lamp for the stability programme ASR / ESP -K155- is defective. Carry out an electric test.
Warning lamp for deactivated ESP, from week 22.2010
This indicates that the traction control system (TCS) is deactivated.
t  It remains turned on when the TCS is deactivated by pressing the button for TCS and ESP -E256 -.
Warning light for selector lever lock -K169-
For models with automatic gearbox only.
t  If this is turned on, the brake pedal must be pressed so that the automatic gear lever can be moved from the P position to N.
