Fit a new dash panel insert.
Fit a new dash panel insert.
The procedure „Renewing dash panel insert“ covers the following additional tasks:
t  If a new dash panel insert is installed in the vehicle, the control unit of the dash panel insert must be adjusted to the different equipment features and associated country settings.
t  To adapt the integrated electronic immobiliser in the engine control unit, the data from this unit must be recorded onto the new instrument panel.
t  Furthermore, if a new dash panel insert is installed, all ignition keys must be adapted.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 505x-
  E97-10509
t  Diagnosis cable -VAS 5051/6A-
–  Connect up the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system -VAS 505X-.
–  Select the function „Fault finding guide“ on the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System -VAS 505X-.
–  First select „Functions and components selection“ using button „Go to “and then:
t  Body
t  Electrical system
t  01 - Self-diagnosis-compatible systems
t  Instrument cluster
t  Functions of dash panel insert
t  Fit a new dash panel insert.
