Alternator C : check > < Fitting the battery's positive cable to the alternator
Poly-V belt: check
Poly-V belt: check
–  Use a socket wrench on the antivibrator/pulley and turn the engine.
–  Test the Poly-V belt for the following faults:
t  Tears in the substructure (cracks, internal breakages, lengthways breakages)
t  Separation of layers (covering layer, draw strands)
t  Detachment of the substructure
t  Sections of frayed draw strands
t  Wear on edges of belt (wear of material, frayed edges, hardened edges -brittle edges-, surface cracks)
t  Traces of oil and grease
  Note
The Poly-V belt must be replaced, if defects are discovered. Interferences and malfunctions can be avoided this way. Poly-V belt replacement is a repair measure.
