  Note
t  By disconnecting the earth strap (power interrupted), safety is guaranteed while working on the electrical system.
t  The battery positive only needs to be disconnected if the battery is to be removed.
t  The earth strap must not be disconnected from the body.
t  It is not necessary to remove the fuse box above the battery to disconnect the battery. Two versions of the main fuse box are available.
t  The main fuse box can be, due to the length of the cables, lifted (version 1) or moved to one side (version 2).
–  Switch off ignition and all electr. loads.
   
Vehicles fitted with version 1 main fuse box:
–  Release the main fuse box -1- press the grip -2- in -in the direction of arrow A-.
–  Lift the main fuse box -1-, as far as the batteries positive cable allows in the direction of -arrow B-.

Vehicles fitted with version 2 main fuse box:
–  Release the main fuse box -2- with the grip -arrow- from the lock clips -1-.
–  Lift the cover -2- of the main fuse box.

–  Pull the side clips -2- of the main fuse box -1- in the -direction of the arrow-, from the battery tray -3-.
–  Place the main fuse box to one side, as far as the positive cable of the battery allows.
All vehicles (continued):
–  Loosen the securing bolt -4- and disconnect the negative terminal -3- of the battery.
