Checking piston projection in TDC

Work procedure

–	When installing new pistons or a short engine, inspect the piston projection at TDC. Depending on the piston projection fit the relevant cylinder head seal in accordance with the table below:

Piston projection over cylinder block top side	Marking number of bores
0,91 mm to 1,00 mm	1
1,01 mm to 1,10 mm	2
1.11 mm to 1.20 mm	3

Identification of the cylinder head gasket

t	Part number = -arrow 1-

t	Control code = -arrow 2- (ignore)

t	Bores = -arrow 3-

Note

If different values are measured during the piston projection measurements, the greatest dimension applies for the seal assignment.
