Testing and setting injection rate
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Triangle wrench -T10366-
Test conditions
l  Mechanical basic setting of the engine o.k.
l  Toothed belt tension o.k. → Chapter.
l  The coolant temperature must be at least 80 °C.
Work procedure
–  Check the readout of the injection rate in idle → Vehicle diagnostic tester.
Specified value: 3.0 ... 9.0 mg/s
–  Note the readout of the injection rate (measured value block 1, line 3).
  Note
The injection pump must be set again to the previously noted readout of the injection rate.
If the specified value is not reached:

–  Loosen the fixing screws of the metering mechanism -A- and the special screw -B- max. 1/4 turn.
–  Observe the readout of the injection rate on the display and move the metering mechanism into the required direction through slight blows with a plastic hammer:
t  In direction of timing belt sprocket: injection rate increases.
t  In direction of distributor head: injection rate decreases.
After reaching the specified value:
–  Tighten the 3 released fixing screws of the metering mechanism and the special screw crosswise to 9 Nm.
