Reading readiness code

Special tools, test equipment as well as aids required

t	Vehicle system tester -V.A.G 1552 - with cable -V.A.G 1551/3-, 3A, 3B or 3C

Procedure

–	Connect vehicle system tester -V.A.G 1552-, switch on ignition and select address word 01 “Engine electronics” → Chapter.

–	Enter function 15 “Readiness code” and confirm with key Q.

The following readout must appear in the display after successfully completing all the diagnoses:

Specified value: 00000000 Meaning → Chapter

If the specified value is reached:

–	Interrogate the fault memory → Chapter.

Readiness code

00000000 - Test complete

If the specified value is not reached:

–	Generate readiness code → Chapter.

Meaning of the 8-digit numerical block of the readiness code

00101101 - Test not complete 00100000

The Readiness code is only generated when all display positions are 0
