Replacing valve stem seals

Cylinder head fitted

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Assembly device for valves -MP 1-213-

t	Extractor -MP 1-206-

t	Insertion tool -MP 1-306-

t	Valve lever -MP 1-211-

Note

t	With cylinder head removed:

t	Remove glow plugs from cylinder head → 1.9 l/74 kW (TDI) Engine, Fuel Injection and Glow Plug System; Rep. Gr.28.

t	Remove unit injectors from cylinder head → 1.9 l/74 kW (TDI) Engine, Fuel Injection and Glow Plug System; Rep. Gr.23.

t	Position cylinder head on a suitable flat valve supporting plate.
