Removing and installing heater unit > < Remove and install coolant shut-off valve of heating system

Vehicles with mapped cooling
Inspection
   
–  Disconnect the connector from the valve -arrow-.
–  Measure the resistence between the contacts of the valve using a multimeter.
Specified value: 31...39 Ω
If the specified value is not reached:
–  Replace valve.
If the specified value is reached:
–  Inspect wiring according to the current flow diagram and repair if necessary → Current flow diagrams and Fitting locations.
If wiring is o.k.:
Vehicles without air conditioning system and vehicles with air conditioning system with manual control.
–  Check heater control → Current flow diagrams and Fitting locations, → Chapter.
Vehicles with Climatronic
–  Check climatronic control unit → Chapter; replace if necessary → Chapter.
Removing
  S87-0173
–  Disconnect the connector from the valve -arrow-.
–  Remove vacuum hoses from the valve.
–  Unlock and take out valve.
Install
Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
