Setting shank bevel gear
Setting shank bevel gear
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Universal measuring device -VW 385-
t  Gearbox mount -MP3-501- or gearbox mount -T30109 (VW 353)- with retaining plate -T30108-
t  Assembly device -T10114-
t  Gearbox mount -T30097 (T10108)-
t  Dial gauge
t  Commercially available torque gauge 0...600 Ncm
The shank bevel gear must be re-set when the following components are replaced:
t  Secondary shaft housing
t  rear axle housing
t  Tapered-roller bearing for shank bevel gear
or the
t  Drive train (shank bevel gear/head bevel gear)
