Removing and installing coolant pump

Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Catch pan for workshop crane e.g. - VAS 6208-
Removing
  Note
t  The integrated gasket of the coolant pump must not be separated from the coolant pump.
t  If damage and leak present, replace coolant pump with gasket completely.
–  Drain the coolant from the engine cooling system → Chapter.
–  Remove belt pulley for control pump → Chapter.
   
–  Release screws -arrows- and remove coolant pump.
Install
Installation is performed in the reverse order, pay attention to the following points:
t  Tightening torque: → Chapter
  Note
Replace O-ring.
–  Clean sealing surface for O-ring and smoothen.
–  Moisten O-ring with coolant.
–  Install belt pulley for coolant pump → Chapter.
–  Top up and bleed cooling system → Chapter.
