Removing and installing the oil cooler > < Removing and installing oil pan

Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Counterholder -T10172-
Removing
–  Removing the oil pan → Chapter.
   
–  Unclip the cover for the chain sprocket of the oil pump -A-.
–  Hold the chain sprocket of the oil pump with the counterholder - T10172-.

–  Loosen the fixing bolt of the chain sprocket.
  Note
Do not unscrew the bolt yet.

–  Press chain tensioner with a screwdriver in -direction of arrow-.
–  Release the fixing bolt of the chain sprocket.
–  Remove the chain sprocket from the oil pump and from the chain.

–  Unscrew fixing bolts of the oil pump -arrows-.
–  Remove the oil pump from the cylinder block.
Install
  S17-0112
–  Press chain tensioner with a screwdriver in -direction of arrow-.
–  Insert the chain sprocket into the chain and position on the shaft of the oil pump.

–  Pay attention to the seating of the chain sprocket on the shaft of the oil pump -arrow-.
–  Screw in new fixing screw for chain sprocket.

–  Counterhold the chain sprocket with the counterholder -T10172-.
–  Position the torque wrench -A- as shown.
–  Tighten the new fixing bolt to 20 Nm + torque a further + 90° (1/4 turn).

–  Install the cover for the chain sprocket of the oil pump -A-.
–  Installing the oil pan → Chapter.
