Aligning exhaust system free of stress
l  The exhaust gas system must be cold for aligning.
   
–  Slacken front double clamp -1- and align to main catalytic converter -2- (-arrow- points in direction of travel).
   -a- = 5 mm
The fixing screws must be on the right. They must not protrude beyond the bottom edge of the double clamp.
–  Tighten the front nut by hand.

–  Push the exhaust system so far forward until the initial load -dimension a- on the retaining strap at the middle part of the exhaust system is 9 ... 11 mm.
–  Tighten the nuts of the front double clamp evenly to 23 Nm.
Align tail pipe

–  Align rear part of exhaust system in such a way that there is an equal distance -a- on the right and left between bumper opening and tailpipes.
For aligning, if necessary the hangers of the exhaust system must be loosened.
