Removing and installing Control and display unit for air conditioner, ClimatronicE87 with Climatronic control unitJ255
Removing and installing Control and display unit for air conditioner, Climatronic -E87- with Climatronic control unit -J255-
  Note
t  The Climatronic control unit -J255- and the Control and display unit for air conditioner/Climatronic -E87- cannot be disassembled.
t  As of MY 09 (CW 45.08), different arrangement of actuating elements and displays, the assembly work is indentical.
Removing
–  Vehicles with mobile phone holder - slacken mobile phone holder → Electrical System → Rep. gr.91.
–  Carefully lever out the cover for the radio/navigation and the heater control using a disassembly wedge -3409-.
   
–  Unscrew the screws -2- and remove the control and display unit for air conditioner/Climatronic -E87--1- from the dash panel.
–  Disconnect the plug connections on the control and display unit for air conditioner/Climatronic -E87-.
Install
Installation is performed in the reverse order, pay attention to the following points:
  Note
t  Test the operation of the control and display unit for air conditioner/Climatronic -E87- after the installation.
t  Carry out „Initiate basic setting“ with the → Vehicle diagnostic tester.
t  If the push-button AC does no longer function after replacing the Climatronic control unit -J255-, carry out the function of the „AC compressor inlet“ with the → Vehicle diagnostic tester in the targeted fault finding.
