Removing and installing heating element for additional air heatingZ35
Removing and installing heating element for additional air heating -Z35-
  Note
The heating element for additional air heating -Z35- is only fitted to certain models.
Removing
  DANGER!
The heating element for additional air heating -Z35- can be hot - risk of burning!
Before removing the heating element for additional air heating - Z35-, allow it to cool down.
–  Remove the side cover of the centre console on the left side → Body Work → Rep. gr.68.
–  Remove left footwell vent → Chapter.
  Note
   
If the lever is positioned opposite the left temperature flap in such a way that the top screw -A- is covered by the lever -C-, switch on the ignition and perform another adjustment of the temperature.
–  Disconnect battery earth strap → Electrical System → Rep. gr.27.
–  Unscrew the screws -A- from the cover -B- and remove the cover.
Vehicles manufactured up to 10.06
  A87-0685
–  Unscrew fixing nut for supply voltage -3- (6 Nm) and for earth connection -4- (6 Nm).
–  Disconnect the plug connections -5- from the heating element for additional air heating -Z35-.
Vehicles manufactured as of 11.06
  S80-0138
–  Unscrew the fixing nut for the earth connection -A- (9 Nm).
–  Disconnect the plug -B- with the strip -2- from the heating element for additional air heating -Z35--C-.
All vehicles
–  Push the heating element for additional air heating - Z35- out of the heater unit.
Install
Installation is performed in the reverse order, pay attention to the following points:
–  Pay attention to the sequence when connecting the battery → Electrical System → Rep. gr.27.
