  Note
t  Before installing heat the inner ring of the tapered-roller bearing to 100°C.
t  Replace both tapered-roller bearings together.
t  When replacing the tapered-roller bearings, the differential housing, the gearbox housing or the clutch housing, set the differential gear → Chapter.

q   Determine thickness → Chapter
3 - Outer ring/tapered-roller bearing
q   removing → Fig.
q   installing → Fig.
4 - Inner ring/tapered-roller bearing
q   remove → Fig.
q   pressing on → Fig.
5 - Differential gear housing
q   with riveted pinion for final drive
q   Support -arrow- for the right tapered-roller bearing with insert for right flange shaft approx. 28 mm longer
q   Assignment → Electronic Catalogue of Original Parts
6 - Inner ring/tapered-roller bearing
q   remove → Fig.
q   Gearbox with right rigid shaft: pressing on → Fig.
q   Gearbox with right flange shaft: pressing on → Fig.
7 - Outer ring/tapered-roller bearing

q   installing → Fig.
8 - Washer
q   Fitting position: the shoulder on the inside diameter points towards the gasket ring Pos. 14

14 - Sealing ring
q   for rigid shaft up to production date 31.10. 04 04
q   replace with installed gearbox → Chapter
15 - Right flange shaft
q   Assignment → Electronic Catalogue of Original Parts as of production date 01.11. 04, it replaces the rigid shaft Pos. 13
16 - Cap
q   release with screwdriver alternatively from the flange shaft pos. 15
q   push on by hand up to the stop
q   must lock with the flange shaft
17 - Sealing ring
q   for flange shaft as of production date 01.11. 04 Pos. 15
q   replace with installed gearbox → Chapter
q   Assignment → Electronic Catalogue of Original Parts
18 - Pressure spring for flange or rigid shaft
q   rear flange or rigid shaft fitted
19 - Thrust washer
q   Fitting position: Collar to pressure spring, legs (if present) to conical ring
20 - Conical ring
q   with slots (if present) for thrust washer catch
q   Fitting position: Cone towards differential gear housing
21 - Circlip
q   holds the conical ring, stop disc and pressure spring in position when the flange shaft or rigid shaft is removed
22 - Differential bevel gear, large
q   installing → Fig.
23 - Differential bevel gear shaft
q   drive out with drift
q   installing → Fig.
24 - Tensioning sleeve
q   to secure the differential bevel gear shaft
q   removing and installing → Fig.
25 - Differential bevel gear small
q   installing → Fig.

q   when installing moisten with gearbox oil
