Absolutely observe the safety precautions when working on the diesel direct injection system → Chapter.
1 - Fuel tank
2 - Fuel filter
3 - High pressure pump
q   removing and installing → Chapter
q   Pressure test → Chapter
q   Check return flow quantity → Chapter
4 - Fuel dosage valve -N290-
5 - Fuel pressure sender -G247-
q   removing and installing → Chapter
6 - Fuel distributor
q   removing and installing → Chapter
7 - Control valve for fuel pressure -N276-
q   replace after each removal
q   check → Chapter
q   removing and installing → Chapter
8 - Fuel return-flow line with pressure holding valve
q   The pressure holding valve has the function to always hold a remaining pressure (control quantity) of approx. 0.1 MPa (1 bar) in the fuel return-flow line. The injection units (piezo injectors) require this control quantity for their function.
q   the fuel return-flow line must not be disassembled
q   must be replaced completely
q   after replacing, the engine must run at idling speed for approx. 2 minutes in order to vent the fuel system
q   check → Chapter

q   Testing the vacuum → Chapter
