1 - Screw cap
q   Replace seal if damaged
2 - Oil feed line
q   to exhaust gas turbocharger
3 - Dipstick
q   Oil level must not exceed the max. marking!
4 - Bracket for top auxiliary units
q   removing and installing → Chapter
5 - Gasket
q   replace if damaged
6 - Guide bushing
7 - Oil filter, 20 Nm
  Note
When removing, make sure that the oil does not penetrate into the generator! Therefore, cover the generator with a clean cloth!
q   with gasket rings
q   with non-return valve
q   slacken and tighten with oil filter wrench -3417-
q   Pay attention to change intervals:
t  → BookletFabia II
t  → BookletRoomster
t  → BookletOctavia II
t  → BookletYeti
8 - 25 Nm
9 - Gasket
q   replace if damaged
10 - 8 Nm + torque a further 90° (1/4 turn)
q   replace
11 - Engine oil cooler
q   removing and installing → Chapter
12 - 8 Nm
13 - Top timing case
q   removing and installing → Chapter
  Caution
Pay attention to tightening process!
14 - 25 Nm
15 - Bottom timing case
q   removing and installing → Chapter
16 - 5 Nm + torque a further 30°
q   Screw: M6x20
17 - 5 Nm + torque a further 30°
q   Screw: M6x40
18 - Chain
q   removing and installing → Chapter
q   for oil pump
q   mark running direction (installed position) before removing
19 - 150 Nm + torque a further 180° (1/2 turn)
q   removing and installing → Chapter
q   replace
q   The clamping surface of the fixing screw must be free of grease and oil.
q   insert oiled (thread)
20 - Belt pulley
q   removing and installing → Chapter
q   Clamping surfaces must be free of oil and grease.
21 - Diamond coated washer
q   replace
22 - Sealing ring
q   replace
q   removing and installing → Chapter
23 - Bottom cover
24 - 20 Nm + torque a further 90° (1/4 turn)
25 - Sprocket
q   for oil pump drive
q   Clamping surfaces must be free of oil and grease.
q   Lock chain sprocket with counterholder -T10172-
26 - Oil pump
q   removing and installing → Chapter
q   must be replaced completely
27 - 13 Nm
q   replace
q   slacken and tighten only the bolts at the gearbox side with socket insert -T10058-
28 - 10 Nm
29 - Oil level and oil temperature sender -G266 -
q   replace if damaged
q   check → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations
30 - Sealing ring
q   replace if damaged
31 - Oil drain plug, 30 Nm
q   with captive seal
q   replace
32 - Oil pan
q   removing and installing → Chapter
33 - 14 Nm + torque a further 90° (1/4 turn)
34 - Sealing ring
q   replace
35 - Suction line
36 - 8 Nm
37 - 8 Nm
38 - Oil separator
mount using locking agent -D 176 501 A1-
