Testing combination valve

Test conditions

l	Final control diagnosis performed → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051

l	The suction and pressure lines should not be kinked or blocked and the connections should be tight

Test sequence

–	Remove the sound dampening system → Body Work; Rep. Gr.50.

Note

Do not use any compressed air during the subsequent test!

–	Remove the pressure hose -arrow- on the secondary air pump motor and blow into it using gentle pressure. Combination valve must be closed.

–	Blow into it at high pressure: The corresponding combination valve should open.

Note

The combination valve opens at a pressure of about 0.006...0.007 MPa (60...70 mbar).

If the combination valve does not open or is constantly open:

–	Replace the combination valve.
