Replacing gasket ring for gearshift shaft on removed gearbox (not disassembled)
Replacing gasket ring for gearshift shaft on removed gearbox (not disassembled)
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Pipe section -MP3-479 (VW 423)-
t  Ejection lever -T20143/1-
t  Assembly sleeve -01E 311 120-
t  Sealing grease -G 052 128 A1-
Removing
   
l  Gearshift shaft installed
–  Carefully lever out gasket ring without damaging the gearshift shaft.
  A34-0624
l  Gearshift shaft removed
–  Carefully lever out gasket ring with screwdriver or ejection hook -T20143-.
Install
  A34-0650
–  To avoid damaging gasket ring -C-, the gasket ring or gearshift shaft should be mounted with assembly sleeve -01E 311 120--A- only.
–  Fill half the space between the sealing lip and dust lip with sealing grease -G 052 128 A1-.
–  Lightly lubricate the outer circumference of the gasket ring.

–  Driving in gasket ring -arrow- up to 1.0 ± 0.2 mm under housing surface, at the same time do not tilt.
