Disassembling and assembling the drive shaft - Mounting sequence → Chapter
  Note
t  When installing new pinions observe the technical data → Chapter.
t  When replacing the synchronizer rings, the inner ring, the intermediate ring and the synchronizer ring must be replaced together for the respective gear.
t  If synchronizer rings are not replaced, make sure that they are assigned again to the original gear.
t  Insert all bearings and synchronizer rings onto the drive shaft with gear oil.
t  The twelve-point nut Pos. 7 has a left thread, turn this nut clockwise for loosening.
t  On gearboxes with spring-loaded shift forks → Fig., the positions 8, 11 to 14, 18 to 21, 25, 28 to 31 and 34 to 37 were changed. Assign components via → Electronic Catalogue of Original Parts.

2 - Grooved ball bearing
q   replacing on removed gearbox (not disassembled) → Chapter
q   replace with gearbox disassembled → Chapter
3 - Gearbox housing
4 - Needle bushing
q   removing and installing → Chapter

q   Determining thickness again → Anchor

q   Install arresters (3 pieces) → Fig.
16 - Pressure plate
q   Install pressure plates (3 pieces) → Fig.
17 - Synchronizer body for 3rd and 4th gear
q   pressing off → Anchor
q   pressing on → Fig.

q   Change: with additional “PTFE - washer” for 5th gear needle bearing → Fig., assign components via → Electronic Catalogue of Original Parts

Difference between drive shafts
On a drive shaft without “PTFE - washer”, the dimension x = 31 mm
On a drive shaft with “PTFE - washer”-A-, the dimension x = 29 mm
  Note
After installing the needle bearing for 5th gear, push the “PTFE - washer”-A- up to the stop onto the drive shaft -arrow-.
