Removing and installing the central pipe
   
Removing and installing the central pipe
1 - Central pipe
Removing:
–  Removing dash panel → Chapter.
–  Remove fuse holder from central pipe → Electrical System; Rep. gr.97.
–  Unhook relay carrier from central pipe → Electrical System; Rep. gr.97.
–  Remove knee airbag → Chapter.
–  Remove crash strut for clutch pedal -8-.
–  Remove the steering column assembly from the central pipe → Chassis; Rep. gr.48.
–  Remove the intermediate piece for the dash panel vent → Heating and Air Conditioning; Rep. gr.87.
–  Remove the intermediate piece for the defroster duct → Heating and Air Conditioning; Rep. gr.87.
–  Remove the screws -2- of the console -3- and the tunnel struts.
–  Partially remove windscreen wiper motor → Electrical System; Rep. gr.92.
–  Remove the screw -10- from the water channel.
–  Remove the nuts -11- and loosen the electric installation with the heater mounting brackets.
–  Remove the nuts -9- and take out the central pipe -1-.
Installing:
–  Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
2 - 2 Nm
3 - 20 Nm
4 - Console
5 - Holder for knee airbag
Removing:
–  Remove knee airbag → Chapter.
–  Remove the screws -6- and take out the holder.
Installing:
–  Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
6 - 9 Nm
7 - Crash strut for brake pedal
Removing:
–  Remove holder for knee airbag -5-.
–  Remove screws -6- and remove strut.
Installing:
–  Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
8 - Crash strut for clutch pedal
Removing:
–  Remove holder for knee airbag -5-.
–  Remove screws -6- and remove strut.
Installing:
–  Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
9 - Nut, 20 Nm
10 - 25 Nm
11 - Nut, 9 Nm
