Removing and installing angle gearbox (Yeti)
Removing and installing angle gearbox (Yeti)
l  Always remove the angle gearbox together with the gearbox → Chapter.
l  Separate the angle gearbox and the gearbox outside the vehicle.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Socket insert -T10107 A-
   
–  Remove conical screw for right flange shaft with socket insert -T10107 A-. To this end insert two screws in the flange and counterhold the flange shaft using a tyre iron.
  Note
The right flange shaft remains in the angle gearbox.

–  Release screws -arrows- for angle gearbox to gearbox.
–  Carefully press off angle gearbox from gearbox, while doing so secure it against falling.
Install the angle gearbox at the gearbox outside the vehicle
–  On the gearbox, grease the rigid serration at the differential gear with grease for plug serration of clutch disc -G 000 100-.
–  Slip the angle gearbox onto the gearbox, while doing so centrically connect the rigid serration of the drive shaft/angle gearbox with the differential gear.
–  Adjust the serration of the right flange shaft and the differential bevel gear so that they align, if necessary turn the flange shaft.
–  If tooth positioning and centrical guidance are correct, the angle gearbox grips into the gearbox.
  Note
Do not pull angle gearbox with the fixing screws against the gearbox, otherwise the angle gearbox can tilt and the fixing eyes can break off.

–  Attach angle gearbox to gearbox and tighten connecting screws -arrows- crosswise.

–  Tighten the screw of the right flange shaft with socket insert -T10107 A-. To this end insert two screws in the flange and counterhold the flange shaft using a tyre iron.
–  Always install the angle gearbox together with the gearbox → Chapter.
–  After installing, check gear oil level in the angle gearbox → Chapter.
