About the Camry
The Camry has been sold since 1982 and is one of the best-selling cars of all time, with over 22 million sold. It began as a compact and grew into a mid-size car in the 1990s. From May 1988 it was built at Georgetown, Kentucky, Toyota's first wholly owned US plant, and the first Lexus ES models were close derivatives of Camry-based Japanese hardtops.
