Coolant Flange (DIS Ignition Module Adapter),
Remove and Install
Remove
Open coolant drain bolt – collect escaping coolant.
For Z 20 LET engine: Disconnect wiring harness plugs for knock
sensor (1), ignition module (5), mixture regulating oxygen sensor
(3), and ignition coil capacitor (2) and expose. Remove wiring
harness plug bracket (4) from coolant flange.
Detach or remove wiring harness plug from coolant temperature
sensor, exhaust gas recirculation valve, oxygen sensor and DIS
ignition module.

Disconnect vacuum hose (1) from exhaust gas recirculation valve.
Remove DIS ignition module (2) from adapter.

|
Remove fastening bolts (1) and remove DIS ignition module
adapter.
For Z 20 LET engine: Remove fastening bolts and retrieve coolant
flange.
Clean
Clean sealing surfaces and remove gasket residues.

Install
Attach DIS ignition module to cylinder head with new gasket
– tightening torque (M8) 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft., (M10) 30 Nm /
22 lbf. ft.
For Z 20 LET engine: Attach coolant flange to cylinder head with
new gasket – tightening torque (M8) 20 Nm / 14.7 lbf. ft.,
(M10) 30 Nm / 22.1 lbf. ft..
Attach DIS ignition module to adapter DIS ignition module
– tightening torque 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft.
For Z 20 LET engine: Attach wiring harness plug bracket to
coolant flange – tightening torque 8 Nm / 5.9 lbf. ft.
Attach vacuum hose to exhaust gas recirculation valve.
Attach or connect wiring harness plug to coolant temperature
sensor, exhaust gas recirculation valve, oxygen sensor and to DIS
ignition module.
For Z 20 LET engine: Connect and clip in wiring harness plugs
for knock sensor, ignition module, mixture regulating oxygen
sensor, and ignition coil capacitor and route wiring harnesses.
Close coolant drain bolt.
Charge and bleed cooling system – see operation "Cooling
System, Charge and Bleed" and "Cooling System, Check for
Leaks".
