Camshaft Pulleys, Remove and Install
 Remove
Remove air cleaner housing – see illustration "Air Duct (X
20 XEV, X 20 XER)" or illustration "Air Duct (Z 20 LET)",
respectively.
Remove upper part of toothed belt cover – see operation
"Toothed Belt Cover – Upper Part, Remove and Install".
Remove ribbed V-belt – see operation "Ribbed V-belt,
Remove and Install (without Air Conditioning)" or "Ribbed V-belt,
Remove and Install (with Air Conditioning)".
Remove ribbed V-belt tensioner – see operation "Ribbed
V-belt tensioner, Remove and Install (without Air Conditioning)" or
"Ribbed V-belt tensioner, Remove and Install (with Air
Conditioning)".
Remove lower part of toothed belt cover – see operation
"Toothed Belt Cover – Lower Part, Remove and Install".

 Adjust
Turn the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation to "1st
Cylinder TDC" using the fastening bolt for the toothed belt drive
gear.
At the same time, the notches on the camshaft pulleys must align
with the marks (1) on the cylinder head cover.
Lock camshaft with KM-853 (2).
Release toothed belt tension roller and detach from camshaft
pulleys.

Remove
Remove KM-853.
Remove fixing bolts (3) from KM-6347 (1). Insert KM-6347 in the
camshaft pulley in conjunction with KM-956-1 (2) - ensure that it
is seated correctly.
Note: Grooves in
KM-6347 (arrows) must engage in the camshaft pulley.
Turn KM-6347 in the direction of the arrow and tighten the
fixing bolts. Remove fastening bolt (4) from the camshaft
pulley.
Remove fixing bolts from KM-6347 and remove KM-6347. Remove
camshaft pulley fastening bolt and remove camshaft pulley.

Install
Install camshaft pulleys with timing marks on front.
Attach camshaft pulleys to camshaft with new bolts –
tightening torque 50 Nm / 37 lbf. ft. + 60° + 15°.

Place the camshaft phasing gear with
KM-6347 on the mark - mark (1) on the guide bearings aligns with
the slots on the camshaft pulleys. Fix the camshaft pulleys with
KM-853 (2).

Install toothed belt – see operation "Timing, Adjust".
Install lower part of toothed belt cover – see operation
"Toothed Belt Cover – Lower Part, Remove and Install".
Install ribbed V-belt tensioner – see operation "Ribbed
V-belt Tensioner, Remove and Install (without Air Conditioning)" or
"Ribbed V-belt Tensioner, Remove and Install (with Air
Conditioning)".
Install ribbed V-belt – see operation "Ribbed V-belt,
Remove and Install (without Air Conditioning)" or "Ribbed V-belt,
Remove and Install (with Air Conditioning)".
Install upper part of toothed belt cover – see operation
"Toothed Belt Cover – Upper Part, Remove and Install".
Install air cleaner housing – see illustration "Air Duct
(X 20 XEV, X 20 XER)" or illustration "Air Duct (Z 20 LET)",
respectively.
