Coolant Temperature Sensor, X 17 DTL

The coolant temperature sensor is attached to the thermostat housing and measures the temperature of the coolant as a representative value for the engine temperature.

The signal from the coolant temperature sensor is required for:

•  the cooling module control unit (actuation of radiator fans)

•  the preheating system

•  the exhaust gas recirculation

•  the temperature gauge

•  the overheating prevention characteristic map (if the coolant temperature is too high, the injection quantity is limited)
