Power Sounder (Vauxhall only)

Before disconnecting the ground cable from the vehicle battery see section "Power Sounder, Disarm". See sticker in engine compartment as well for corresponding information.

Arm power sounder:

The Power Sounder is automatically armed within 15 seconds of switching off the ignition.

Trigger alarm:

If the ground cable is then disconnected from the battery or alarm is triggered by the ATWS control unit, acoustic alarm is sounded by the power sounder for the alarm period of approx. 30 seconds.

Power Sounder, Disarm:

There are four different ways to disarm the Power Sounder:

1  The Power Sounder must be deactivated as follows in order to allow service work to be performed on the vehicle: The alarm will not be triggered if the ground cable is disconnected from the vehicle battery within 15 seconds of switching off the ignition. The Power Sounder remains deactivated until the ground cable is reconnected to the vehicle battery.

2  If alarm is triggered by a signal from the ATWS control unit or by disconnection of the ground cable from the vehicle battery, the power sounder is automatically reset after the alarm period of 30 seconds has elapsed. However, the power sounder is still ready for alarm.

3  The audible alarm is cancelled if the alarm is triggered by a signal from the ATWS control unit and the signal is then cancelled before the alarm period (approx. 30 seconds) has elapsed.

4  By switching on the ignition.
