Trailer Hitch, Remove and Install
 Remove
Rear panelling - see operation "Rear Panelling, Remove and
Install (Models F08, F48), (Model F69)" or "(Model F35, F70)" in
group "A".
Unbolt socket from trailer hitch.
Remove cable ties from wiring harness.
Detach rear muffler.

Remove trailer hitch from underbody - 4 mounting points (1).

|
Mounting brace - 2 bolts.
|

|
Remove
Remove trailer hitch.
|
Additionally, for removal of retaining plates (2):
See operation "Inner Panelling - Lower Rear End Panel, Remove
and Install (Models F08, F48), (Model F69) or (Model F35)" in group
"C".
Release rear quarter panel inner panelling.
Remove 1 centring bolt from each plate. Remove retaining
plates.

Install
|
Install retaining plates with centring bolts. Install trailer
hitch and socket. Fasten wiring harness with cable ties.
Torque
|
Trailer hitch to underbody
|
45 ± 5 Nm
|
|
Mounting brace (Model F35/F70)
|
12 ± 2 Nm
|
|
|
Install
Install rear muffler, perform operational check on system.
Install rear quarter panel inner panelling, rear end panel lower
panelling, rear panelling.
