Replace carpet - complete - L69

  Remove

1.   Disconnect battery
2.   Wait 1 minute for airbag to deactivate
3.   Detach front seat belt securing panel - both sides
•   Unclip panel upwards (1)
4.   Detach seat belt from front seat - both sides
•   Unscrew bolt (2)

5.   Detach rear of front seat - both sides
•   Unscrew 2x bolt (1)
6.   Remove front seat - both sides
•   Remove from front guide
•   Release and disconnect compact connector

7.   Detach footwell instrument panel padding left and right
•   Unscrew 2x bolts (1) on driver's side and remove footwell panelling from bracket
•   Unscrew 2x screws (2) on passenger's side and remove footwell panelling from bracket

8.   Detach central console
9.   Remove sill strip completely - both sides
•   Loosen 5x clips
•   5x remove from guide
•   Remove inner panelling sill upwards

10.   Detach instrument panel padding fastening stations - both sides
•   Unscrew 6x bolt
Object Number: 3446932 Size: DEFAULT


11.   Detach lower C-pillar panel - left side LUREF_1.gif
12.   Detach lower C-pillar panel - right side LUREF_1.gif
13.   Remove airbag control unit
•   Unscrew 3x nuts (1) and remove control unit
14.   Loosen airbag wiring harness
•   Release 2x wiring harness plugs and disconnect
•   Loosen cable harness clamp
•   Separate hand brake wiring harness plug
•   Detach earth cable and place to one side
•   Unclip cable duct
•   Unclip diagnostics plug

15.   Remove diagnostics plug bracket
•   Unclip clip
•   Unscrew 3x nut
•   Remove bracket
16.   Loosen shifter rod in the engine compartment
Note:   Mark installation position.
•   Loosen bolt (1)
17.   Remove cage
•   Unscrew 4x screws and remove cage with shifter rod

18.   Remove carpet beginning from rear
Note:   2nd mechanic required.
Object Number: 10680993 Size: DEFAULT


  Install

19.   Lay carpet beginning at the front
Note:   A second mechanic is required
20.   Install cage
•   Insert shifter rod
•   Place cage and tighten 4x screws
21.   Fasten shifter rod in the engine compartment
Note:   Observe the installation position!
•   Tighten the bolt
22.   Install diagnostics plug bracket
•   Install bracket
•   Tighten 3x nut
•   Clip in clip
23.   Fasten airbag wiring harness
•   Fasten cable harness clamp
•   Connect wiring harness plug
•   Tighten nut
•   Install earth cables
•   Clip in cable duct
•   Clip in diagnostics plug
24.   Install airbag control unit
•   Connect 2x wiring harness plugs
•   Tighten 3x nuts 10 Nm
25.   Attach instrument panel padding fastening stations - both sides
•   Tighten 6x bolts
26.   Attach footwell instrument panel padding left and right
•   Insert footwell panelling in bracket and screw in 2x screws on passenger's side
•   Insert footwell panelling in bracket and screw in 2x screws on passenger's side
27.   Install centre console
28.   Install sill strip completely - both sides
•   Insert sill strip into guide
•   Clip in 5x clips
29.   Insert front seat - both sides
•   Connect and latch compact connector
•   Insert seat in front guide
30.   Fasten front seats - both sides
•   Tighten 2x bolt 35 Nm
Note:   Use screw locking compound
31.   Attach seat belt to front seat - both sides
•   Tighten bolt 20 Nm
Note:   Use screw locking compound
32.   Insert front seat panel - both sides
•   Place front seats in original position
33.   Attach lower C-pillar panel - left side LUREF_1.gif
34.   Attach lower C-pillar panel - right side LUREF_1.gif
35.   Connect battery
36.   Program volatile memories
