Replace moulded headlining - L08

  Remove

1.   Remove windscreen
L08
2.   Unhook load compartment cover
3.   Remove B-pillar top - left side
•   Pull out panel (1) from B-pillar moulding
•   Unscrew seat belt bolts from B-pillar
– Unclip cap (2)
•   Remove upper B-pillar panelling upwards

4.   Remove upper B-pillar moulding - right side
•   Pull out panel from B-pillar moulding
•   Unscrew seat belt bolts from B-pillar
– Unclip cap
•   Remove upper B-pillar panelling upwards
5.   Remove upper C-pillar inner panelling - left side
•   Unscrew C-pillar seatbelt fastening screws
– Detach cover cap (1)
•   Unclip 3x C-pillar inner panelling clips

6.   Remove upper C-pillar inner panelling - right side
•   Unscrew C-pillar seatbelt fastening screws
– Detach cover cap
•   Unclip 3x C-pillar inner panelling clips
7.   Remove left sun visor
•   Unscrew 2x bolt (arrows)
•   Loosen wiring harness plug insulating tape
•   Separate mirror lighting wiring harness plug (1)

8.   Remove left sun visor support
•   Unclip sun visor
•   Prise out main bracket wedge and remove main bracket
Note:   Spring of main bracket is not secured and may fall down.

9.   Remove right sun visor
•   Unscrew 2x bolt
•   Loosen wiring harness plug insulating tape
•   Separate mirror lighting wiring harness plug
10.   Remove right sun visor support
•   Unclip sun visor
•   Prise out main bracket wedge and remove main bracket
Note:   Spring of main bracket is not secured and may fall down.

11.   Unclip microphone panel (3) and unclip sunroof actuation unit panel (1)
•   Unclip using a suitable tool (screwdriver)
12.   Unclip interior light glass (2)

13.   Slacken front interior light bracket
•   Unscrew 2x bolt (1)
•   Unclip bracket (4) all round
•   Unclip wiring harness bracket (2)
•   Disconnect wiring harness plug (3)

14.   Remove handle in moulded headlining
•   Open panel (arrow)
•   Unscrew 2x bolt

15.   Remove front left sunglasses storage compartment
•   Unclip 2x cover (arrow)
•   Unscrew 2x bolt

16.   Remove rear seat interior light
•   Unclip left light, side
•   Disconnect wiring harness plug (1)

17.   Detach moulded headlining
Note:   2nd mechanic required! Removal of the moulded headlining is only possible through the windscreen! Place front seats as far back as possible!
•   Separate rear inner lighting wiring harness plug
•   Loosen 4x velcro fasteners
•   Lay down moulded headlining in vehicle interior

18.   Remove moulded headlining
Note:   2nd mechanic required!
•   Remove moulded headlining through windscreen opening

  Install

19.   Insert moulded headlining
Note:   2nd mechanic required!
•   Insert moulded headlining through windscreen opening
20.   Install moulded headlining
Note:   2nd mechanic required!
•   Join 4x Velcro fasteners
•   Position door seal cover lip left and right over moulded headlining
•   Connect rear interior light wiring harness plug
21.   Install rear seats interior light
•   Connect wiring harness plug
•   Clip in light
22.   Install front left sunglasses storage compartment
•   Tighten 2x bolts 2.8 Nm
•   Clip in 2x cover
23.   Install right front handle
•   Tighten 2x bolts 2.8 Nm
•   Clip in 2x cover
24.   Secure front interior light bracket
•   Connect wiring harness plug
•   Clip in wiring harness bracket
•   Clip bracket in all round
•   Tighten 2x bolts
25.   Clip in interior light glass
•   Clip in 4x clips
26.   Clip in microphone panel and sunroof actuation unit panel
•   Clip in 2x panel
27.   Install left sun visor support
•   Clip in support assembly in front roof frame
28.   Install left sun visor
•   Connect mirror lighting wiring harness plug
•   Fasten wiring harness plug insulating tape
•   Tighten 2x bolts
•   Clip in sun visor into support
29.   Install right sun visor support
•   Clip in support assembly in front roof frame
30.   Install right sun visor
•   Connect mirror lighting wiring harness plug
•   Fasten wiring harness plug insulating tape
•   Tighten 2x bolts
•   Clip in sun visor into support
31.   Install upper C-pillar inner panelling - left side
•   Clip in 3x C-pillar inner panelling clips
•   Tighten C-pillar seatbelt fastening screws
– Attach cover cap
32.   Install upper C-pillar inner panelling - Right side
•   Clip in 3x C-pillar inner panelling clips
•   Tighten C-pillar seatbelt fastening screws
– Attach cover cap
33.   Install upper B-pillar moulding - left side
•   Guide B-pillar panelling from above in inner panelling guide front of rear quarter panel
•   Clip in upper B-pillar panelling
– Press in expanding bolt
•   Tighten seat belt bolt to B-pillar
– Clip in cover cap
•   Pull door seal edge spoiler over moulding
34.   Install upper B-pillar moulding - right side
•   Guide B-pillar panelling from above in inner panelling guide front of rear quarter panel
•   Clip in upper B-pillar panelling
– Press in expanding bolt
•   Tighten seat belt bolt to B-pillar
– Clip in cover cap
•   Pull door seal edge spoiler over moulding
35.   Clip in load compartment cover
36.   Place the front seat in the original position
37.   Install windscreen
