Replace protective trim strip for rear door -

Remove right and left tail lights
|

Lift vehicle half way up
|
Important: Danger of damage!
Unlock rear panelling carefully from rear quarter panel!
|

Loosen rear panelling, side right and left
• |
Unscrew 2x screws right (2)
|
• |
Press rear panelling in the area of the rear quarter panel
upwards and pull outwards, side
|
• |
Unclip rear panelling from outer guide rail right 4x
|
• |
Unscrew 2x screws left (4)
|
• |
Press rear panelling in the area of the rear quarter panel
upwards and pull outwards, side
|
• |
Unclip rear panelling from left outer guide rail right 4x
|
|

Loosen middle rear panelling
|
5. |
Remove number plate lighting (arrow)
• |
Remove number plate lighting
|
• |
Disconnect 2x wiring harness plug
|
|
|
|
6. |
Detach rear panelling (1)
Note: 2nd mechanic
required!
• |
Unlock 3x bracket on rear right guide rail (2)
|
• |
Unlock 2x brackets on middle guide rail (3)
|
• |
Unlock 3x bracket on rear left guide rail (4)
|
|
|
|
7. |
Remove trim strip
• |
Remove crash absorber (1)
|
|
|
|
Install
8. |
With vehicles with Parkpilot sensor: Attach Parkpilot sensor
bracket
|
10. |
Attach rear panelling
Note: 2nd mechanic
required!
• |
Lock 3x guides to upper rear left guide rail
|
• |
Lock 2x guides to middle guide rail
|
• |
Lock 3x guides to upper rear right guide rail
|
• |
Clip in 4x rear panelling to outer left guide rail
|
• |
Clip in 4x rear panelling to outer right guide rail
|
|

Attach middle rear panelling
|
12. |
Install number plate lighting
• |
Connect 2x wiring harness plugs
|
• |
Position number plate lighting
|
|
13. |
Attach side rear panelling left and right
• |
Tighten 2x screws left 2.5 Nm
|
|
14. |
Attach side rear panelling
• |
Tighten 2x bolts right 2.5 Nm
|
|
15. |
Lower vehicle half way down
|
16. |
Install right and tail lights
|
