Replace tailgate trim strip/ wheel shield - L35 /

 Remove

Remove upper right and left tailgate inner panelling
|

|
| 2. |
Remove tailgate lock panel
| • |
Remove body-bound rivet
|
|
| 3. |
Remove lower tailgate inner panelling
| • |
Remove 2x body-bound rivets (ll)
|
|
|
|
|
| 4. |
Remove tailgate trim strip
Note: Middle fastening
bolts are to be additionally fastened with jointing compound!

Remove 2x cover caps (l)
|
| • |
Disconnect wiring harness plug.
|
|
|
| 5. |
Remove 8x threaded bolts
| • |
Remove 8x brackets from side
|
|
| 6. |
Remove right number plate light
| • |
Unscrew bulb holder from number plate light housing
|
|
| 8. |
Remove left number plate light
| • |
Unscrew bulb holder from number plate light housing
|
|
| 10. |
Remove central connector from tailgate bracket
| • |
Unlock connector
| – |
Remove connector with wiring harness from guide (arrow)
|
|
|
|
|
| 11. |
Remove tailgate lock actuating switch
| • |
Unlock 2x guides (arrow)
| – |
Remove switch with complete wiring harness
|
|
|
|
|
Install
| 12. |
Install tailgate lock actuating switch
| • |
Lock 2x guides
| – |
Insert switch with complete wiring harness
|
|
| • |
Position wiring harness
|
|
| 13. |
Install central connector to tailgate bracket panel
|
| 15. |
Install left number plate light
| • |
Screw in bulb holder to number plate light housing
|
| • |
Bolt in guide housing for number plate lighting
|
|
| 17. |
Install right number plate light
| • |
Screw in bulb holder to number plate light housing
|
| • |
Bolt in guide housing for number plate lighting
|
|
| 18. |
Install 8x threaded bolts
|
| 19. |
Install tailgate trim strip
| • |
Connect wiring harness plug
|
| • |
Install 2x outer cover caps
|
|
| 20. |
Install lower tailgate inner panelling
| • |
Install 2x body-bound rivets
|
|
| 21. |
Install tailgate lock panel
| • |
Install body-bound rivet
|
|
| 22. |
Install upper right and left tailgate inner panelling
|
|
