C-097 - Fuse FR27 Circuit

Test

Work Order Description

Nominal Value

T001

Check: Short to Ground of Voltage Supply Circuit

  • Ignition OFF
  • Reconnect all disconnected components
  • All consumers turned off
  • Insert new component:
    FR27 Fuse
  • Ignition ON
  • Check the following component for proper operation:
    FR27 Fuse

Test okay?

Yes: No:
T002

Check: Short to Ground of Voltage Supply Circuit

  • Ignition OFF
  • Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
    X131 Rear Electronic Module
    (Wiring Harness Connector XR3 )
  • Connect fused jumper wire to:
    X131 Rear Electronic Module
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 7 (XR3)
    &
    Battery voltage
  • Check the following component for proper operation:
    Fuse of the fused jumper wire

Test okay?

Yes: No:
T003

Check: Vehicle Configuration

Is the following information correct for the actual vehicle?

Power Sounder
Yes: No:
T004

Check: Short to Ground of Voltage Supply Circuit

  • Remove fused jumper wire
  • Connect fused jumper wire to:
    X131 Rear Electronic Module
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 8 (XR3)
    &
    Battery voltage
  • Check the following component for proper operation:
    Fuse of the fused jumper wire

Test okay?

Yes: No:


Result

Cause Of Fault

E001 Result: System Overload
  • A temporary current overload in the system behind fuse FR27 has occurred

Note:

In case of a temporary current overload, the cause for the blow of the fuse may be located in a circuit behind the control unit/component.

These circuits should be checked additionally for short to ground.

E002 Result: Defective Component
  • Defective component:
    X131 Rear Electronic Module

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.

E003 Result: Short to Ground
  • Short circuit to ground between:
    X131 Rear Electronic Module
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 8 (XR3)
    &
    H17 Power Sounder - Anti-Theft Warning System
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 2

or

  • Defective component:
    H17 Power Sounder - Anti-Theft Warning System
E004 Result: Short to Ground
  • Short circuit to ground between:
    X131 Rear Electronic Module
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 7 (XR3)
    &
    B2_E68 Sensor - Anti-Theft Warning System, Passenger Compartment
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) wiring colour PK

or

  • Defective component:
    B2_E68 Sensor - Anti-Theft Warning System, Passenger Compartment

Note:

Wiring colours: BK=Black, BN=Brown, BU=Blue, GD=Gold, GN=Green, GY=Grey, OG=Orange, PK=Pink, RD=Red, SR=Silver, TQ=Turquoise, VT=Violet, WH=White, YE=Yellow,
L=Light, D=Dark
