Replace one piston and/or con-rod
Remove
1. |
Remove piston with con-rod
|
Important: Do not damage piston
or con-rod. Use protective jaws.
|
2. |
Detach piston from con-rod

Clamp piston (1) in vice with con-rod (3)
|
• |
Remove 2x piston pin retaining ring (2)
|
• |
Remove piston pin (4)

Push piston pin out of piston and con-rod by hand
|

|
|
Install
Important: When assembling the
piston and its con-rod, note the recess in the piston (2) and the
code (1) of the con-rod
|
3. |
Attach piston to con-rod
Note: Coat piston pin
with engine oil.

Insert the piston pin in the piston
|
• |
Fit piston with piston pin on con-rod
|
• |
Insert piston pin through con-rod in piston
Note: The ring groove
for the piston pin retaining ring must be free.

4. |
Fit 2x piston pin retaining ring in piston
Note: Ring gap must be
positioned in region of measurement I (maximum 30° )
|

|
5. |
Set piston ring gap
Note: Arrange joint of
piston rings offset by 120°
|
|
|
6. |
Remove piston with con-rod from vice
|
7. |
Install piston with con-rod
|
